Matt + Susan at the Stone Mill Inn

We have just gotten through the worst flooding that has hit the area in 40 years. Roads were washed off, homes were damaged, and people were evacuated. I got a phone call from Susan that day.. “Hey Farid, there’s a slight change of plan…” And she began to calmly tell me the plan for the day. I was blown away by how calm and at peace Susan was. It was as if she knew their day was going to be perfect despite of all the challenges that they had to go through. And perfect it was.

The anticipation of the biggest day of her life.. the building pressure, things were running a little behind, everything was coming to a climax that day.As we were getting ready to leave the church, I was told by the coordinator to make sure we came back absolutely on-time. Yes Ma’am. I drove Jordan to a park in Lancaster where we were going to have our first-look and Kristen followed in a towncar… and it happened.

The summer breeze. The ocean waves crashing in the background. The prettiest blue sky. The bright green grass.. as I stepped out of my car for Courtney & Rob’s wedding, I immediately felt relaxed and at ease. Right then and there I knew it was going to be a wonderful day. People were still setting for the wedding, the caterers busy preparing the tables, the flowers were being arranged, and things are falling into place for a beautiful wedding. But through it all there was this sense of calm, almost serene, permeating through the venue. I love this feeling.

We only knew each other informally, and when my brother passed away Charity shared with me a conversation she had with my brother just a few days before. How my brother encouraged her through his faith in God, believing that God was taking care of everything . Sharing that story with me meant so much as I was grieving for my own loss.

February 12, 2011. It was supposed to be a warm 40 degrees. I stepped out of my car to get my camera equipment ready, and was immediately greeted by the frigid winds. So not only did it not quite reach 40 degrees, it was also freezing cold with crazy winds going on, which certainly made our outdoor session a little.. well, difficult. But none of that ultimately mattered, as Season and Brian knew that the thing that mattered most that day was their love and commitment to each other.
