“This feels sooo weirdd!!” she exclaimed, as the newly married Alison & Mike gathered in a small pavilion with their families and the rest of the bridal party. She was talking about their first kiss. A true first kiss. She then leaned in to Mike, and sneaked in their second kiss. Ever. A sweet, sweet kiss.
How can you not love shooting such a dear couple like this? The whole day was simply filled with sheer amazement, excitement, and joy. As a photographer it’s easy to get caught up in trying to come up with artsy and epic shots, but time and time again, weddings like this reminds me that it’s the little moments that matters. The giggle. The nervous looks. The outpouring of emotion as your bride walks down the aisle.
What makes this wedding even more special for me is that these two are dear friends of mine. In fact, my son Jackson had the honor to be their ring bearer! So yes, this was my favorite wedding of the year so far.
The day began at Mary’s home. Mary is Alison’s mom and one of my closest friends. She has told me before that she’s always afraid in picking bright colors, but after working on these pictures I can unequivocally say, “I’m so glad you painted your living room yellow because it made for the prettiest pictures.”

Internetz, meet Cooper. He’s awesome.
Is this a precious picture or what?
I then drove to Mike’s home.. where he was getting ready at this awesome loft.
The Wedding was held at Fox Chase golf club. The picture above tells you all you need to know about the weather that afternoon. Most brides I know would simply freak out when this happen, but Alison handled it with such grace.. it blew me away. She knew the rain won’t stop her marrying the love of her life. And that the day would be as beautiful as she wanted it to be.
The ceremony was moved to under the pavilion.. which was also gorgeous.
Did I say that it was gorgeous?
“We’re REALLY did it!!”
I was hoping that we would found a porch (see http://farwid.com/2010/09/lancaster-e-session-mike-alison/ ), and of course we did!

Meet Jackson, mr. Ring bearer. He’s cute. I’m not biased. at all.

We then hung out around Fox Chase to get some bridal portraits..
The reception started with a first dance..

..which turned into an all-out party! The dance floor was so packed I could barely move around.

Mike & Alison, it was truly an honor to be apart of your wedding day. Thank you for our friendships. Thank you for showing us how to genuinely and passionately love. Thank you for “just being you.”
